Take Action and Volunteer Share your heart and share your time. Volunteers Matter. Financial investments help to assure that United Way initiatives and funded programs can continue to help people and change lives. Equally important are the volunteers who give of their time to make a difference in the community. A few hours of your time can change a life. Last year, United Way placed more than 5,000 volunteers in nearly 700 community projects – all of them arranged by United Way’s Volunteer Services. By effectively linking philanthropy and volunteerism, United Way of Tampa Bay has been able to leverage both dollars and thousands of hours of time provided by our selfless volunteers through a number of effective programs.
