What is a "Sortopalooza"?
Throughout August, more than 135 workplaces displayed their commitment to the importance of childhood literacy by collecting new and gently-used children’s books during the United Way of Tampa Bay Second Annual Children’s
Book Drive, sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities. During the "Sortopalooza" – a mega book-sorting event involving more than 200 volunteers – and in upcoming sorting sessions, books will be sorted, cleaned, boxed and delivered to more than 25,000 children in 41 Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties elementary schools. Each child will receive books to keep and take home.
