Crystal Vantilburg is on the road to increased independence. In her 50’s, she doesn’t let her disabilities slow her down. With support and training from MacDonald Training Center, Crystal now works part-time at Chili’s Restaurant – her first job in many years.

United Way of Tampa Bay invests in MacDonald Training Center’s Employment Services Program. The program enables people with developmental and other disabilities to acquire and maintain skills for employment at or above minimum wage.

With guidance from MacDonald Training Center, Crystal learned how to fill out an application and interview for a job. With limited use of her right arm and hand, she achieved her goal to learn how to roll silverware to work in the restaurant industry. Able to roll 50 napkins with silverware in an hour, she meets the expectation of a non-disabled person.

Employed with Chili’s for a year now, Crystal loves her job and enjoys socializing with her co-workers. As a result of her job,
