About United Way United Way of Tampa Bay helps people overcome challenges and barriers to succeed. For many, success means finding a job. For low income parents, it means finding affordable child care for their kids. For under-educated adults, it means learning how to read and write. For the disabled, it’s about participating fully in community life. For seniors, it means getting the support they need to live healthy in their own homes. For the homeless it means getting off the street and having a good place to stay. United Way goes beyond addressing the immediate crisis or problem. Working with many partners – human service agencies, governments, supports, businesses, and labor – United Way takes action to address the root causes of problems and situations that harm people and our community. United Way listens to people’s ideas about what matters and takes action to improve systems of care. United Way is the only organization that works with all sectors of our community to identify human service issues and opportunities, create common visions of a better community, and generate resources that, when leveraged together, create lasting change in the lives of people. We invest in community agencies and programs, engage in partnerships, mobilize thousands of volunteers, and participate in community-based planning to create positive results in people’s lives. There are many ways to partner with United Way. Sharing your treasure is one of them. Our annual work place campaign provides opportunities for employees to come together and act together through contributing through United Way's easy payroll deduction.
