Need help?
Look no further than 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares (Pinellas) and the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay (Hillsborough)

“John” was unemployed, recovering from an injury. The family’s savings was spent on his medical care. With no income, the rent went unpaid, resulting in an eviction notice to vacate their home. He and wife struggled to feed their four

children, especially their youngest, who needed formula. They had no family in town to assist them. Hearing about 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares, John called for help.

John discovered services he didn’t know existed. His family qualified for temporary funding to pay their rent. Support for childcare allowed John’s wife to find work. A food pantry provided food for his children. John took classes to learn new job skills, and received assistance in finding new employment. To meet their needs and plan for the future, John and his wife took free financial education classes which taught them to balance a budget, reduce their debt, improve their credit and save for their own home.

2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares and the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay are United Way partner agencies that serve people who need help now.
