Research and Evaluation Partnerships
United Way of Tampa Bay is committed to understanding the depth and breadth of the critical issues related to its Community Impact Agenda. Because of this commitment to current, relevant data and data analysis, in 2005, United Way partnered with Medegy, a data warehousing arm of the University of South Florida, to initiate a data base of critical community indicators that related to United Way’s focus on Family (Economic) Well-Being, based upon the 2000 U.S. Census.
In 2006, United Way has expanded its research efforts to partner with the USF School of Social Work to develop an evaluation approach to United Way’s child care and financial literacy initiatives. This evaluation will provide valuable insight into the efficacy of new initiatives, and guide future program development and funding decisions. United Way is also working with the USF/Community Atlas, a web-based project for research and public information, to design a virtual platform for identifying and tracking changes in critical community impact "indicators." This virtual platform will provide the United Way and the general community with valuable information about quality of life issues that reflect United Way’s Community Impact Agenda, and will assist with the ongoing, long term measurement of outcomes related to United Way’s Community Impact investments.
