United Way Moves to Westshore Office

 Fifty-eight United Way staff followed moving trucks and countless tagged boxes from N. Ashley Drive down the road to Bridgeport office building, 5201 W. Kennedy Boulevard, across from Westshore Mall.
Leaving an expired lease and cramped cubicles behind, United Way staff arrived Monday, March 10, inspired to work in their new fresh surroundings. The oft asked questions included, “Where’s the coffee?” and “How do I get to the Willow Conference room?” (Through staff voting, each conference area is named after a Florida tree.) By days end, empty boxes lay huddled for recycling and staff became settled in their new surroundings.
Moving the contents of an entire office is no easy feat, as those who have experienced it can attest. Beginning with United Way’s board guidance and oversight, the search for new office space began nearly two years ago. Toiling through numerous meetings and decisions, a cross-functional relocation committee spearheaded the almost insurmountable task of relocating an entire office.
Now under a new roof, United Way continues its mission: to inspire leaders and partners and mobilize resources to make a measurable difference in the lives of people in our community.
